British-Iranian aid worker sentenced to 5 years in prison
Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a British-Iranian charity worker, was sentenced to five years in jailon charges of espionage raised by Salavati, a so-called judge in Iran’s corrupt judiciary system..
Mrs. Zaghari-Ratcliffe, 37, was detained at Tehran’s “Khomeini” International Airport in early April last year as she tried to leave Iran after a visit with her 22-month-old child.
“The lack of justice in Nazanin’s case continues to be a stain on Iran,” the woman’s husband Richard Ratcliffe said.
She works for the Thomson Reuters Foundation which has no dealings with Iran, her husband added.
