Protest outside Padideh financial Institute in Mashhad, September 24, 2017

Protesting woman: You don't say anything, nothing, nothing. You say (we should) come back another ten days. We wait. When does this ten-day period end? Why doesn't the person who has the final say, come?
Someone in the crowd: They don’t even come out of their hideouts to console us.
Protesting woman: They send us guards with electric shockers and guns and rifles.
Someone in the crowd: Please don’t cry Madam!
Protesting woman: Have you seen anyone more oppressed than we are? Have you seen anyone more unfortunate?
Our lives have been destroyed. I swear to God; we have been destroyed. I have been suffering from pain for six months, but I don't have even one million toumans to have the gum surgery I need. I have been suffering for six months. I have been in pain.
Someone in the crowd: It’s not good for you to get so mad…
Protesting woman: I have taken so many pills and tranquilizers that my liver and kidneys have become dysfunctional. Our lives have been destroyed. Do you understand?
It's been four years that I've been renting a 50-square-meter apartment. I'm in pain and I can't even pay my rent. I earn only 700,000 toumans a month and my rent is 600-700 thousand toumans. We don't even have bread to eat.
