Maryam Rajavi and the Plan for Women’s Rights in Iran

There are ten areas that Maryam Rajavi and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) see as in need of improvement in terms of gender equality in Iran.

Let’s explore those ten areas and how Maryam Rajavi would tackle them in more detail.

1. Fundamental freedoms and rights

Maryam Rajavi believes that women should have the same human rights and fundamental freedoms as men and vows to ban any type of discrimination against women, in order to ensure that women are equal to men in all economic, social and political spheres.

2. Legal Equality

Maryam Rajavi believes that women and men should have equal protection under the law. Thus, she would:

• raise of the criminal age of responsibility for girls in Iran to 18

• make courts recognise that testimonies and affidavits from women hold equal weight to those from men

• guarantee women’s access to the police and the courts in cases of violence, rape and sexual assault, discrimination, and deprivation of liberty

UN: A UN special rapporteur on human rights said on Thursday there had been little change in the situation in Iran over the past year, voicing deep outrage over the harassment of journalists and adding that progress on women’s rights was extremely slow.

A day after submitting her report to the world body, Asma Jahangir, the UN special rapporteur on the Iran rights situation, told reporters that torture was widespread in Iran and that some people were imprisoned for seeking justice.

Jahangir said she did not attempt to assess the impact of sanctions on human rights in Iran in her report because she had not been allowed to visit the country, which does not recognise her mandate.

Trump should Formally Recognise the Iranian Resistance

President Trump to formally recognise the Iranian Resistance, the National Council of Resistance of Iran  (NCRI), and officially invite their leader Maryam Rajavi and her delegation to the White House.By lending Legitimacy and Creedence to the Iranian Resistance, Trump will be metaphorically speaking plunging a dagger into the lawless Mullah’s hearts on the International scene.

The US Administration’s new strategy should be focused on Regime Change in Tehran and Official Recognition of the Iranian Opposition ( NCRI-U.S. Rep Office‏ ) as symbolic of Regime Change force, and the legitimate voice of the oppressed Persian people.The former US President Barack Hussein Obama abandoned and shunned the Iranian people when they last rose up in rebellion against the criminal Mullahs in 2009, to the eternal shame and dismay of the democratic  world, now is the vital time for President Trump to make official amends for this heartless and embarrassing faux pas by Obama and his discredited foreign advisers.

The United Kingdom will make its formal exit from the European
Union in March of 2019. No matter how one feels about the forthcoming change, it is a political reality, and it would be short-sighted to deny that there are both benefits and drawbacks for the British nation.

The beginning of this disentanglement comes at a fortuitous time. Western powers are caught between contrasting policy alternatives in key areas, including their dealings with the Middle East and their visions for the future of Iran and its regional power structure.
