IRAN REGIME’S ANTI-MEK PROPAGANDA EXPOSED

By INU Staff
INU - For several weeks, the Iranian Regime has been running a disgusting smear campaign against Iranian opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), by having its agents and mercenaries pose as reporters from Britain’s Channel 4 and Al-Jazeera English,
as admitted by Iranian Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif and the regime's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Hamid Baeidinejad.
Zarif and Baeidinejad recently said that the threatening tactics around the MEK residence in Albania and the smear campaigns by Channel 4 and Al-Jazeera English were "ordered" by the mullahs’ regime.
On September 16, Zarif called on social media sites to remove the accounts of MEK supporters, a likely reference to the Al-Jazeera programme.
Just an hour later, Baeidinejad said: "Shortly after Dr. Zarif referred to the bitter reality of the existence of a massive network of fake tweet production and replication, the UK’s Channel 4 and Al-Jazeera broadcasted documentary programs that revealed the hidden face of this bitter reality."
He then claimed that the MEK "produces millions of messages in the form of hashtags calling for the overthrow [of the regime] using the most advanced information technologies every day” and urged Twitter to "act upon the official request of Dr. Zarif to close the fraudulent accounts that sent hashtags calling for an overthrow against Iran".
It is worth noting that the Iranian Regime already denies access to a free and fair internet to its 80 million citizens, so this act of requesting that MEK supporters around the world also be denied internet accounts shows how scared the regime is.
This is further proof that the lies broadcast in these programmes were just the mullahs’ vengeful repetition of their previously debunked claims against the MEK.

Italy: Approval Of The Statement “Freedom And Democracy For Iran”And Support For The Iranians Grand Gathering On June 30th

Approval of the statement “Freedom and Democracy for Iran”And support for the Iranians Grand gathering on June 30th
By the Italian municipalities
June 2018
The “Freedom and Democracy for Iran” statement was approved by the municipalities of Rivoli, Cavagnolo, Fossano and the Union of Mayors of Pinerolese, with a majority vote of members and turned into law.
The statement read of Fossano
Freedom and democracy for Iran, Iranians Grand gathering
For almost four decades the theocratic dictatorship in Iran has oppressed the Iranian people and for this has been repeatedly condemned by the UN and various organizations tasked to defend human rights.
In recent years, Iranians have suffered from the most vicious forms of repression, censorship, and continuous violation of human rights such as public hangings, group executions, torture and sexual abuses of political prisoners, stoning to death, amputation of limbs, arbitrary arrests, and denial of fundamental freedoms.
Over 120,000 dissidents and activists for the democracy and human rights have been executed and their family members have been the subject to arbitrary arrests, atrocious torture and, in some cases, execution.
In the summer of 1988 the Iranian regime extra-judicially executed more than 30,000 political prisoners – mostly members and supporters of the opposition movement the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in prisons across the country – on the basis of a religious decree (fatwa) issued by the then-supreme leader Ruhollah Khomeini.
Amnesty International has called this mass execution a “crime against humanity” and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.

Iran’s Revealing Remarks About the PMOI/MEK and Grand Gathering in Paris

Iranian society is deeply troubled by the country’s economic and social crises. There has been a significant increase in protests staged by people from all walks of life, including teachers, factory workers, truckers, and others.
The annual Grand Gathering in Paris on June 30 will be held by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and this year, it will support Iranian people’s turn of the year uprising, as well as the ongoing protests that have followed. The NCRI promotes the Iranian people’s demand for a regime change, and the gathering shows that Iranian people’s protests are backed both domestically and by the international community.
While the event is still weeks away, officials of Iran and its media have made remarks in a press conference held on Sunday June 11th, 2018. According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Bahram Ghasemi, “Rouhani’s government has had talks with French officials for cancelling the gathering.”
Ghasemi told France that “the MEK (The People
’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran which is the main force inside NCRI) holds gatherings in France every once in a while. This is not acceptable for Iran, as we’ve said that no double standard approach should be adopted, thereby dividing the terrorism into a good one and a bad one.” He then threatened France, saying “those who give permit for such gatherings are wrong, as they themselves will be affected by the consequences as well.”
The National Security Commission Spokesman, Naghavi Hosseini, also attacked France for hosting MEK’s Grand Gathering in Paris. Hosseini said in an interview with state-run media, “MEK activities in Europe and their gatherings in European countries is contrary to such countries’ claimed policy of fighting against terrorism.” He added, “The MEK is going to harm Iran-Europe relationships”, as well as, “the group is trying to destroy all peaceful interactions between Iran and Europe, and their upcoming gathering is aimed at affecting Europeans’ approach, particularly at a time when JCPOA-related talks are under way between Europe and Iran.”
Warning Iran’s Foreign Ministry about the consequences of NCRI’s Grand Gathering in Paris, Hosseini insisted, “…under such circumstances, Iran’s diplomacy has to start talks with European counterparts, as the Islamic Republic will have to adopt a new and different policy should the Europeans decide to continue their partnership and interaction with the MEK.”
Kazem Jalali, chairman of Iran’s Parliamentary Research Center, as well as the head of Iran-Europe Parliamentary Relationships Group, have both written letters to their counterparts in European and French parliaments and the French Senate, warning them of “NCRI’s hostile moves in France” and expressing “Iran’s disapproval of European countries’ policy that allows such terrorist group’s gatherings be held in Europe.”

Why should the world stand against Iran’s regime?

The international community must stand against the Evil regime of Iran
Analysis by PMOI/MEK

Iran, June 17, 2018 - The most documented and truthful judgements of a state are those made by individuals inside the regimes.
The heir to Iranian regime founder Khomeini, Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri, said in the early years of Iran’s 1979 revolution: “I am willing to go to the gates of hell with Khomeini, yet I’m not willing to enter.”
There are many leaders like Khomeini who enjoy such enormous popularity – six million people with the utmost hope went to welcome Khomeini’s entrance into Iran – and yet few become one of the world’s most abhorred leaders in just a few years. Traditional dictators take decades to go down such a path.
Many in Iran viewed Khomeini as a father for the entire nation, only to see him show his wrath to and launch a devastating reign of terror.
It was the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) that stood against Khomeini to defend the 1979 revolution’s achievements.
Khomeini made startling remarks in a speech on February 3rd, 1985.
“… There are times when a person is not corrected, unless they are cut and burned. To those not falling under this category, kill them, jail them… humanity must be provided for through retaliation… set aside these childish emotions,” he said.
Ayatollah Montazeri’s faceoff against Khomeini climaxed over the 1988 massacre of more than 30,000 political prisoners, mainly members and

The political difference of this year’s Free Iran convention

By: PMOI/MEK

Paris, June 14, 2018 - Developments involving Iran have accelerated at an amazing rate. Even those supporting the Iranian regime now agree the situation on the ground in Iran is heading towards a major finale.
Domestically speaking, during the past weeks we have witnessed major protests – some describing it as an uprising – by the people of Kazerun, a city in southern Iran. Furthermore, tens of thousands of truck drivers across the country were holding a nationwide strike.
Internationally, the consequences of the United States pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal are impacting the Iranian regime to the core. The 12-article statement issued by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo hurled this crisis into an even more dangerous and complex state for Tehran. Moreover, new sanctions are being imposed on the mullahs’ economy and causing grave concerns for their senior officials.
In such circumstances, the Iranian opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and its core member, the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), is focusing their efforts to increase and continue popular protests across the country.
In parallel fashion, the Iranian Diaspora, widely supporting the NCRI & the PMOI/MEK, are on the verge of holding their annual convention in Paris, this year scheduled for June 30t

The US Must Act on Iran's Human Rights Abuses

Iran Focus
London, 01 Mar - The United Nations Human Rights Council has invited the Iranian Justice MinisterIran Focus
London, 01 Mar - The United Nations Human Rights Council has invited the Iranian Justice Minister Alireza Avayi to speak at its latest session, which began this week, and that sets a very low bar for human rights.
Avayi has been sanctioned by the European Union for many reasons, but the worst is his long record of human rights violations, including his role in the mass execution of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988.
The massacre, described as one of the worst crimes against humanity since World War II, was ordered in a fatwa by then-Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini.
Political prisoners, mainly members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), were hauled before death commissions, interrogated about their political affiliations, and then sentenced to death after a so-called trial that lasted less than five minutes.
They killed children, the elderly, those who had already been sentenced, those who had already served their sentence, those who were pregnant, and those who were ill. The mullahs showed no leniency.
Avayi, then a prosecutor for the Revolutionary Court in the city of Dezful, personally ordered the deaths of numerous political prisoners, but he was still appointed as Justice Minister in 2017 under the so-called moderate President Hassan Rouhani. ‘Iran’s days are numbered’ US Congressman in urgent warning to Islamic regime

The Republican said the end of the Islamic Republic is in sight, saying the regime could be kicked out of power “in the blink of an eye”.
Protests in the country have continued this month after first erupting late last year due to anger at soaring unemployment and economic problems.
These spiralled into bigger demonstrations as citizens vented their anger at the regime ruled by religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
But despite Tehran clamping down on the protests, with hundreds of demonstrators rounded up and arrested, Mr Rohrabacher said they signal the end for the regime.
He was speaking yesterday at a conference in Paris organised by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI).

WHY MARYAM RAJAVI BELIEVES IRANIAN WOMEN SHOULD BE FREE TO DRESS FREELY

by Mahmood Hakamian
Last week, we featured a piece on gender equality and how it is imperative to the Iranian Resistance movement. In that piece, we outlined ten areas that Maryam Rajavi and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) would tackle in order to make gender equality a reality in a Free Iran.
One of those areas was freedom of dress and today we will examine why Maryam Rajavi believes that choice in clothing is such an important area to achieve gender equality in.
What are the laws regarding women’s clothing in Iran?
Under the mullahs’ Sharia law, women are supposed to remain veiled in public. The law is incredibly unpopular in Iran and many women defy it at any given opportunity.
When was this law introduced?
The mandatory Hijab was introduced in the early days of the Iranian Regime and many Iranian women, especially those involved in the NCRI member group the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), protested against it and held demonstrations to oppose the law.https://irannewsupdate.com/news/iranian-opposition/4698-why-maryam-rajavi-believes-iranian-women-should-be-free-to-dress-freely.html

IRAN RESISTANCE GROUP MEK CALLS ON INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT PROTESTERS

By INU Staff
INU - The Iranian Regime is involved in “warmongering and belligerence” in order to fuel crises in the Middle East, according to Iran’s organised democratic forces, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
The Iranian Regime’s regional aggression has also been criticised by the Iranian people during their ongoing nationwide anti-regime protests, and the MEK are advising that the international community back the protesters’ calls for regime change in order to avoid Iran starting another war in the Middle East.
MEK representative Shahin Gobadi said: “The regime’s warmongering and belligerence is a major source of concern and tension in the region that can lead to a major war. But it can be averted. Years of policy of appeasement by Western governments emboldened the Iranian regime. The overthrow of the Iranian regime and establishment of peace and democracy in Iran would have a lasting impact in establishment of peace and tranquillity in the region.”
The area is on the edge of all-out war, as tension rise between Iran and its neighbours over Iran’s support for terrorism and proxy militias.
Indeed, Iran has tens of thousands of fighters in Syria, where they have spent $100 billion propping up the Assad Regime since 2011, is in direct conflict with Saudi Arabia over Iran-backed terrorist groups in Lebanon and Yemen, and is at odds with Israel after the downing of an Israeli fighter jet.
Gobadi said: “Export of terrorism and Islamic extremism, including warmongering and meddling in the region, has been a strategic pillar of survival of the regime and a cover for its domestic repression. Syria has been the of this policy.”

DEBUNKING THE IRAN REGIME'S LIES ABOUT THE MEK: NO, THE MEK AREN’T MARXIST

by Poorang Novak
It is no secret that the Iranian Regime (both Mullah and Shah) have used disinformation campaigns to attack and discredit the Iranian Resistance group, the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
One of those disinformation campaigns is the ‘Islamist Marxist’ label that the Shah’s Secret Police (SAVAK) originally used to disparage the MEK in order to undermine its support among the devout Iranian people because the Shah was scared of the MEK’s potential to mobilise Iranians- particularly the youth- against the monarchy. The Shah and SAVAK also used it to disparage other political opponents of the monarchy.
Why? Because of the public perception of the word in Iran as being synonymous with atheism, materialism, and Westernism.
Newspaper reports didn’t help clear up the matter because all opponents of the monarchy (and there were many) would be placed in the same paragraph, meaning that the MEK would be listed in the same paragraphs as the Communist Party and the Marxist People’s Fedayeen, which may have given the false impression that their policies were similar.

After the 1979 Revolution, the MEK wanted to establish a democratic government, while Ruhollah Khomeini and his mullahs wanted a fundamentalist theocracy and the two groups clashed. After the Shah left, the mullahs began to attack the MEK using their terrorist proxy thugs.
The mullahs and their Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) continued to misrepresent the MEK and referred to them as godless Marxists. However, the mullahs and the MOIS went much further than the Shah and the SAVAK in this regard, because the mullahs are alarmed by the MEK’s popularity and see the MEK as a threat to the Regime.

THE RELIGIOUS BELIEFS OF THE MEK

by Mahmood Hakamian
The main political opposition to the Iranian Regime is a group dedicated to bringing freedom and democracy to Iran: The People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
The MEK differs from the Regime in both their interpretation and implementation of Islam, with the MEK seeing Islam a modern and tolerant religion, which is perfectly attuned to modern society, and believing that this is the only true interpretation of Islam.
In 1982, MEK leader Massoud Rajavi, said: “The Islam we want is nationalistic, democratic, progressive, and not opposed to science or civilization. We believe there is no contradiction between modern science and true Islam, and we believe that in Islam there must be no compulsion or dictatorship.”
It is from this that the MEK derives its political beliefs, which directly contradict the intolerant and extremist Sharia Law of the mullahs, and why the MEK has widespread support among the Iranian people and people all around the globe.
Let’s look in more detail at how the MEK’s interpretation of Islam and how it shapes their political beliefs.

HOW POPULAR IS THE MEK IN IRAN?

by Mahmood Hakamian
One of the most common reasons given for dismissing the Iranian Resistance, specifically the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK), is that it is unpopular within Iran. This is simply untrue.
The MEK is the largest and most popular people’s resistance movement within Iran and it enjoys support from all sectors of the population. The Mullahs’ Regime, on the other hand, is highly unpopular among the Iranian people as evidenced by the hundreds of protests per day in 2017, which was admitted to by the Regime and finally by the recent nationwide protests and uprising in which the Iranian people clearly expressed their desire for regime change as the one and only solution to all the problems.
Getting precise numbers of MEK members and supporters in Iran is impossible because this organization has been banned there since the early 1980s, shortly after the then Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini declared the MEK to be enemies of the Regime.
The punishment under the Regime for being associated with the MEK can be execution- under some vague charges of enmity against god- so it is no wonder that MEK members have to keep their political affiliation under wraps. Despite this, many Iranians will hold MEK banners or flags during protests or hang them up in public places before elections, so you can see that the MEK is incredibly popular in Iran.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO THE MEK AT CAMP ASHRAF IN IRAQ?

by Mahmood Hakamian
In 1986, around 1,000 members of the People’shttps://irannewsupdate.com/news/iranian-opposition/4635-what-really-happened-to-the-mek-at-camp-ashraf-in- Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) travelled to Iraq in order to build a new operations base for their resistance group with the hopes of bringing democracy to Iran.
They were given a barren patch of land in the desert, near the Iranian border, which had a few deserted and partially-constructed buildings, but no running water or electricity. This was Camp Ashraf. It expanded quickly as MEK supporters from the US and the EU travelled to the camp in order to help free the Iranian people from the grasp of the mullahs.

 IRAN-IRAQ WAR

At the time, the Iran-Iraq war was in its fifth year, and the MEK, Iraq, and the Iranian people all wanted the conflict to end quickly. Iraq had offered peace in 1982, but the mullahs refused because they wanted to destroy Iraq and take it over for themselves.
The MEK, in an effort to speed up the resolution to the war, formed the National Liberation Army (NLA) to take part in battles against Iran separately from the Iraqi army. Eventually the mullahs, scared that the MEK would spark a revolution in Iran, agreed to a UN ceasefire.
After the war had ended, the MEK turned Ashraf into a fully functioning 14-square-mile city, which included a mosque, university, museum, shopping centre and many other facilities. They were often the target of missiles attacks by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), but thanks to the MEK’s secure bunkers, casualties were minimal. The MEK remained dedicated to their objectives of bringing freedom to Iran.

UN should help end impunity in Iran and throughout the world

In 1996, on behalf of the Spanish President Allende Foundation, I filed a criminal complaint in Spain, under the principles of universal jurisdiction, against Chilean Gen. Augusto Pinochet and other leaders of his military junta. The charges detailed genocide, systematic torture, politically motivated killings and terrorism. The defendants were then enjoying absolute impunity in Chile.
I led a multinational team of lawyers in prosecuting those officers in absentia for more than 4,500 cases of murder and forced disappearance, and for the torture of more than 30,000 survivors of Pinochet’s years as dictator of Chile (1973-1990). I was in Santiago’s presidential palace, Palacio de la Moneda, when the coup took place in 1973 and saw Pinochet’s crimes first-hand. The executions and torture perpetrated in Chile remain fresh in everyone’s memories.
But the number of killings pales in comparison to the case that could be brought against leaders of another inhumane system whose crimes recently have garnered my attention. In just a few months during 1988, the Islamic Republic of Iran executed an estimated 30,000 political prisoners and advocates for democratic governance, mostly members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

We Should Listen Closely To Iran

As the world continues to debate the recent Iranian outburst of protests, its "lack of leadership" as they claim, and the road ahead, there is no doubt in the minds of senior Iranian regime officials over who led, and continues to lead, this latest uprising that continues to rattle the very pillars of the mullahs' rule.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei made his thoughts crystal clear.
“The incidents were organized” and carried out by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), he said although using a different term. “The [MEK] had prepared for this months ago” and “the  media outlets had called for it.”
The MEK is best known for first blowing the whistle on Iran's clandestine nuclear program back in 2002 and raising awareness over the possible military dimension (PMD) of this drive, a subject awaiting full clarification as we speak.

Interesting is how Khamenei's remarks, however, mirror those of influential American figures.
