U.S. Leaders Praise President Trump’s New Way Forward

With the recent decertifying of the Iranian regime by the U.S., thus stating that Iran is not in compliance with the JCPOA, current and former leaders throughout the country have come out in favor of the Trump administration’s action, as well as supporting the Iranian resistance, which is represented by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), led by President-elect Maryam Rajavi.

During a National Press Club luncheon, former U.S. Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, praised President Trump for his change of policy, as well as condemning the actions of the Iranian regime and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). President Trump has also designated the IRGC as a Foreign Terrorist Organization 

“If you’re not part of the dictatorship, and you’re not acceptable to the dictator, you can’t run, and therefore to pretend that the elections actually offer any serious choice to the Iranian people is simply a fantasy,” said Gingrich. “If you look at the decertification speech, which I think without question is the most methodical outline of how bad the dictatorship is, that any American senior leader has ever uttered, it’s quite a remarkable speech. And what it tells you is that in the long run, it is not just in the interest of the United States to find a better way to do inspections or to find some other device that allows us to continue with the current agreement, it is in the long run in the interest of the United States to find a way to replace the dictatorship.”

Gingrich also noted that the dictatorship is a mortal danger to the United States, because of its increasing influence in the region, as well as its ability to spread terrorism on a global scale. Throughout his time in politics, Gingrich has supported the resistance, noting that they were telling the truth, while the regime has continued to lie to the international community.

On Iran: Former US House Speaker and Presidential Candidate

Former House Speaker and Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich described the clerical establishment of Iran as “a dictatorship with a façade of democracy,” adding, “If you’re not part of the dictatorship, and you’re not acceptable to the dictator, you can’t run, and therefore to pretend that the elections actually offer any serious choice to the Iranian people is simply a fantasy.”

Mr. Gingrich was speaking at a luncheon at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, Friday, held by the Organization of Iranian American Communities, OIAC. The event was moderated by Ambassador Lincoln Bloomfield Jr., the Assistant Secretary of State for Political Military Affairs under the George W. Bush administration.

Don't let Iran take international policy hostage

On Friday, US President Donald Trump decertified [VIDEO]the Iran nuclear deal, citing Iran's violation of the 'spirit' of the deal, thereby initiating the process by which Congress can vote to re-impose suspended sanctions within 60 days. #The President supplemented the decertification with outlining a broad new strategy toward the Iranian regime, targeting not only its nuclear ambitions but also its regional threats, “particularly its support for terrorism and militants.” He announced the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist entity.

Are Iranian people aligned with US national interests?

Following a week of political roller coaster, doubts and strategic calculations, the US foreign policy team unveiled its new policy on Iran and measures to address the catastrophic nuclear deal, better known as the JCPOA.

During a 20-minute speech on 13 October, President Trump laid out the major points of this new policy, which include the decertification of the JCPOA and designation of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) pursuant to the global terrorism Executive Order (E.O.) 13224.

Aside from decertifying the nuclear deal, the announcement of President Trump marks a major policy change that effectively ends the two-decades long failed policy of appeasement against Iranian regime and its malignant role in four corners of the world.

The Hill, Oct. 13, 2017 - In a virtual war for Washington, hawks triumphed over doves. Today, the president announced he is “decertifying” the Iran deal — the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and the Treasury issued an update on Iran Designations.
Decertification is the requirement imposed by a Republican Congress that every 90 days, Obama had to certify the JCPOA was in the national interest, and therefore, the United States was still committed to it.
The Iran deal is neither a formal treaty nor an executive agreement; it is an unsigned, nonbinding political commitment. Trump reluctantly certified the deal twice, but this time, he said Iran acted against the spirit of an accord, and it is not in our interest to honor the deal. But decertification will not kill the Iran deal. A middle course of action is what the president took.
